    Description

    The Citadel of Upper Canada
Fort Henry was built from 1832 to 1837 to replace a fort from the War of 1812.
The Fort protected the naval dockyard at Point Frederick, the entrance of the
    Rideau
Canal,  the town of Kingston, and the supply route for Montreal, Ottawa and Western Canada.
Fort Henry  housed The British Army until 1870 when Queen Victoria  pulled the troops from Canada. Afterwards, A Battery, School of Gunnery then by B Battery resided in the Fort  until 1891.
Fort Henry was used as an internment camp for political prisoners during WW I.  -  The fort received a restoration from 1936 to 1938.
