Vintage A+++ 1930s ROBBINS & MYERS 3-SPEED Fan MODEL 1304 - Still WORKS GREAT !!This fan was made by Robbins & Myers Inc. Springfield, Ohio and this model was produced in 1938.
It measures 14-1/2 inches across the cage, about 18 inches tall, 8 inches in depth, 12 inches across the blades, and about 8-1/2 inches across the base. Its pretty heavy and weighs about 14 pounds by itself.
This is a 4 blade 3-speed (low - medium - high) fan, non-oscillating with an adjustable fixed position. The model or list number is 1304 and is marked on the switch plate.
Original paint with a little scuffing and minor paint loss here and there but not bad, it is clean and really nice enough to use as-is today.
The steel guard cover or cage is unattached at a couple spots, but should be an easy fix with a spot welder or brazing setup.
I bought this fan a few years ago and have used it on and off for a good easy breeze in my shop, still works amazingly well for being 84 years old.
The attached cord is probably not original but looks like a 1940s or 50s replacement.
Electrically this unit is still very good, power cord is not frayed, cloth head wire not frayed and still flexible, I've had no hesitation is plugging it in and using it.
Needs the rubber or bakelite hole grommet replaced on the cord entryway into the cast iron base as its missing.
I have replaced the old green felt on the base, that's all that has been done to it by me except for a good cleaning and wipe down.
Works well on all three speeds, self starts just fine with no need to give the blade a spin, still runs very smooth and quiet.
NOTE: I will ship this fan with the blade and cage assembly removed for protection and packed well in a separate box inside the primary box that has the cast iron base assembly - I have shipped a few fans in the past and this technique works well if done properly. That being said, it will obviously require some simple re-assembly when it arrives.
Since its a vintage electric fan, there is no warranty and sold as-is as pictured.
Selling AS IS as pictured with NO RETURNS unless grossly misrepresented !!!
I have many years experience in packing and safely shipping large delicate items like cast iron Emerson fans, glass chandeliers, heavy stoneware, etc., so, it will be securely packed and should arrive safely to your destination - but remember good packaging is not cheap, however, I will do my best to keep your shipping costs to a minimum.
NOTE: I cannot ship to a P.O. BOX as way too large.
REMEMBER to please wait for a revised invoice from me PRIOR to actually paying for this item so it can be packed and an accurate shipping cost determined to your location as its NOT prepacked.
I have taken many accurate & detailed photos of all sides so you can see clearly what you are getting, there is also a video in this listing which really shows how nice this fan still operates after 80 plus years later - this is the EXACT fan you will receive.
If interested, I will offer local pickup to the buyer.
