VICTORIAN BRITISH 72nd DUKE of ALBANY'S (Seaforth) HIGHLANDERS CROSS BELT PLATE

Description

An early Victorian era 1837-1855 The 72nd Duke of Albany's (Seaforth) Highlanders Other Ranks Brass Cross Belt Plate. The rectangular brass plate has a scroll at the top inscribed "Duke of Albany's", over a Victorian crown and a thistle wreath with the number "72" in the center. Inscribed at the base is "Own Highlanders".  7.0 X 9.4 cm. In very good condition, four belt plate posts on the reverse.
I bought this many years ago as an original piece but I have no way of verifying that so I am offering it as a reproduction.
