Description
This Historical Reenacting item is from a smoke-free home and smoke-free environment. Very well taken care of and from a personal collection of historical re-enacting uniforms and costumes. This is an absolutely outstanding reproduction of a very early 19th century - 1810-1830s State Militia Regimental Coatee / Frock - created based off of the 'Past Patterns' pattern - This coat was originally created to represent the "Nauvoo Legion" (1841-1845) - The Mormon Army in Illinois for a film there.
As the pattern stated: The "Militia Regimental coat pattern is based on several surviving examples of the square cut regimental coat from around the country. We have chosen to duplicate the most common features that might have been worn by the common soldier of a pre-war uniformed militia organization. The all blue wool regimental coat with red facings would not be out of place at any Militia muster during the first quarter of the nineteenth century."
Body is made of high quality blue wool with a wool and cotton lining. The trim is of correct white, flat tape. The Plain brass buttons are on the collar, cuffs, NON-Functional pockets and down the front. It has a period cut with high waist, tall collar, and very long sleeves.
Tight in the body - arms are tight and long as well. Correctly patterned wide tall collar (more accurate reproduction than most you will find). Can't be beat for the price. Worn once.
SIZE is tagged as a 48" chest.
Armpit-to-Armpit: 24 1/2"
Sleeve Length: 32"
Length of Coat: 39"
