    Description

Rendezvous Fur Trade Beaded Leather Fringe Jacket, Hand-Made. Not the manufactured machine-stitched Western style jacket with the even fringe, this is made by a single-owner (me) and worn at numerous Rendezvous, so broken in appropriately but still in great condition. Rough size across shoulders is 18" to 22", sleeve 20" under arm/25" shoulder to wrist, length (back collar to bottom of hide edge)32"/front top closure to bottom of hide edge 22". (I'm 6'2" 180 lbs. for size/fit comparison) Reinforced with double hide across shoulders and along front closure for deer antler buttons. All hand-stitched with 'artificial sinew' - a wax coated nylon thread for those of you not familiar with the craft. Fringe is cut on the original hide in most places and not a separate addition, except for along the bottom where it is added and looped through brass cylinder securement. (Variable length is more authentic to the period). Seed beadwork is attached and not beaded on the leather to collar center back, arm bands, and waist band. Other additions include a lot of brass cones and beads, yellow and red 'white-hearts', and a couple of nice chevrons. After many years of fun, not doing the Fur Trade Rendezvous any more, so would like to pass this along to a good home. See photos for detail. Will be shipped USPS Priority flat-rate box, no changes on that.
