    Description

    I am offering for sale a porcelain mug with a scene from the famous painting of Napoleon, "The Campaign of France" by Ernest Meissonier .  It is manufactured by Lancaster & Sandland Ltd of Staffordshire England.  The details are fine and the colors are vivid.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and with age appropriate minor crazing.  The manufacturer used the backstamp mark that appears on the bottom of the mug beginning after World War II.  I believe that it dates from the mid-20th Century.  It measures 4 7/8" high with a 4" diameter at the widest part.
