    Description

This auction is for a paper sewing pattern.
The basic style of this greatcoat remains to the present day with few detail changes.
Other units in the Napoleonic Wars used the basic cut and made their own changes to shoulder straps, buttons and cuffs.
This pattern is sized to go over a Habite Veste or Habite Longe.
Authentic details of the great coat for the 21e French Infantry de Ligne include stand-up collar, plain shoulder straps, pass through pocket slits, back belt, back-vent, double-breasted styling, barrel cuffs and buttonholes to pull up center front hem.
Construction details include an upper half-body lining and lined sleeves.
Two buttons on the inside helps support the weight of the double-breasted front.
Our American group has added a buttoned-collar tab.
This could be omitted if desired.
This is the small and medium sizes.
