Antique GE Type AH Ceiling Fan Fantastic old 52 inch cast iron ceiling fan.
This is a powerful Antique 52” GE Ceiling Fan Type AH Form AD1 (
label on
motor).
History:
This fan was offered to me in around 1980 as it was
being removed
from an older house that was being renovated.
I had an electric motor shop rewind the armature and I
replaced the
wooden blades.
We used the fan in our living room for about 15 years.
When we moved I kept the fan, but did not install it in our
next house
as there was no suitable location.
This is a great old fan!
Very heavy (I would guess ~ 80 pounds).
It has 3 speeds and moves a lot of air, even on low.
It was running great when we took it down and I expect that
it remains
in very good working order.
The only problem we had was the little threaded bolts (4 on
each light
of the light kit) that hold the glass globes would work
loose periodically
and a glass globe would drop and be held by the bulb & have
to be
re
-
tightened.
The glass globes are not original and are probably 40 years old.  I do not believe the switch is original – it
is
a 3 position rotary switch.
Fan has wear and scratches as expected in a 100 year-old
fan that
has not been repainted.
Fan is sold as is because I have not seen it run in the 20
years it
has been in storage.

Note: If the fan is shipped, the buyer needs to appreciate that I will need several days to build a crate/pack and ground shipping probably will take more than 5 days. I will keep the buyer informed.
