Antique 1920s Deco Emerson Electric Mfg Co St Louis Northwind Type 444A Desk Fan
DESCRIPTION:
This is a classic 1920's desk fan, model 444A, made by the Emerson Electric Mfg. Co of St. Louis, MO. The fan is very nicely crafted and detailed and features a streamlined Art Deco black enameled cone-shaped base with open frame cage gold-colored fan blade, with with and 1 and 2 speed lever switch at base. The fan retains its original cord and plug and still works! The piece is a great example of early Art Deco appliance design.
CONDITION:
The fan presents well and is in good antique, used condition, with minor wear and patina commensurate with age. The frame has minor wear, scuffing, and minimal loss to painted finish. The fan was tested and works in both speed settings; it does appears to need light lubrication (we will leave that up to the buyer). The rayon-wrapped cord has some losses and minor fraying to outer jacket but appears to be in good condition otherwise. Please review all photos before purchasing.
