Description
This is a new made copy of the 1839 Foot Artillery Belt by Stewart Historic Saddlery of Ash Fork, AZ., and most likely the last 1839 I'll make. This sale is just for the belt, it dose not include the 1832 Sword .
The pattern was taken from an original in the collections of a Museum in Oklahoma in 1999 . The leather used is American tanned buff that is no longer available , for that matter the brass hardware is likewise off the market as well . The buckle is from Parsley's Brass here in the USA . In fact this belt is A 100% made in the good'ol USA item , a statement that can't be said much these days .
All stitching is with linen thread , 8 stitches per inch . I'll include a small plastic bag with clay powder to help you keep your belt ready for Company Inspection !
Some of surviving original 1839 belts seen today were "blackened" during the 1850's when the Army stepped away from White Buff.
Size adjustment holes are from 38 out to 42 inches . My shop name is located under the buckle fold, out of plain view.
THE 1832 FOOT SWORD IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE ,used as a prop fort he photos only.
